The work

Most wellness content offered to hotels is one of three things: a generic library licensed to hundreds of properties, an in-house experiment that never scales, or stock spa music with a new label. None of them deliver hand crafted content. None of them are grounded in a methodology that actually works.

Tethered is different. We're a wellness studio in Scotland. We write, compose, voice, and produce every piece in our library - dreamscapes, soundscapes, music, and stories - by hand. Two hundred and fifty pieces and growing every month. Every track passes through human hands at every stage. The work is the product.

The proof

The methodology was proven before we brought it to hotels.

We started with a consumer sleep app which is now used by thousands globally. We didn't theorise about whether the methodology worked. We measured it. The app earned 4.8 stars on the App Store, 3.5 times the industry retention benchmark, and 70% trial to paid conversion. Those numbers don't happen with content that doesn't work. The methodology was proven in the hardest market, paying consumers, before we ever brought it to Scottish hospitality.

Three of Scotland's leading hotel brands. Already on board.

Within weeks of seeing what we'd built, three premium Scottish hospitality brands signed pilots: Cameron House, the five-star resort hotel on Loch Lomond. Crieff Hydro Group, Scotland's largest independent hotel group with seven properties. Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, Sir Richard Branson's hotel arm in Scotland. Each one chose Tethered after evaluating alternatives. Many more are in active conversion. We also have a range of small accommodations, individual boutique properties and small hotel groups onboarding the platform.

Why Tethered exists

The methodology started with us. Then it became a studio.

Graeme spent two decades in senior corporate roles. Constant travel. Constant pressure. Eventually, burnout. He tried the mainstream wellness apps, the ones with millions of downloads and generic libraries, and found they couldn't reach him. Short-term distraction. Nothing that lasted.

Around the same time, Karen lost both her parents in close succession. Grief, anxiety, sleep that wouldn't come. She tried the same apps between grief counselling sessions and found them cold. Content written for everyone, which meant it spoke to no one. So she started writing her own - dreamscapes and stories that meant something to her, grounded in places she knew and feelings she was actually living through. It worked. She shared the content with friends and family going through their own difficulties. It worked for them too.

When we looked at the market, we realised we weren't alone. Wellness app retention sits below 25% after 30 days (ours is 85%!). Generic content doesn't hold anyone. Hand crafted, place rooted content does. That insight became the methodology. The methodology became the consumer app. The consumer app proved the model. Now Tethered is a Scottish wellness studio bringing the same hand crafted approach to Scottish properties.

Owns the wellness methodology that defines every piece in the library, the content theory behind every dreamscape and soundscape, and the voice creation that gives every track its character. The methodology is hers. The studio is built on it. Every new piece in the library passes through her hands.
